The world is your <canvas>
Over the last few weeks we’ve given up a seat in the innovation office for our student intern. It’s been a lot of fun working with Rob Hawkes, showing him how a full service digital agency works and giving him access to all our resources and capabilities to further his own knowledge.
Rob’s interest in exploring HTML5 triggered a series of experiments with the <canvas> element. For the first time, this enables direct drawing of graphics within a browser using JavaScript rather than external plugins such as Flash.
The experiments evolved through animation and interaction with many complex equations along the way to factor in friction, mass, gravity, collision detection, variance and colour morphing.
The finished piece works in 50 of the top considerations for web design and build as put together collaboratively by all Redweb staff.
