Getting content right for the end user

Content is king for your website. Search engines rely on generating affinity with their users. It’s all about relevance. So to keep them coming back, the search engines must give their users good search results first time. If the user finds good relevant results repeatedly on a search engine, they are more likely to use that engine again and again. If they don’t, they will go elsewhere.

So, achieving user loyalty through returning the most relevant results is the Holy Grail for the search engine. The knock-on effect for the website owner is that if you give the user what they want to read, watch, listen to etc, search engines will rank and reward you accordingly. Therefore good content equates to good search ranking position, great content equates to great search rankings etc. That is one of the basic principles behind SEO.

“So, how do I get my content to the end user via a search engine?” I hear you ask. The advice from Redweb Search is simple. Do not try and make your site something that it is not, but at the same time ensure your site is all it can be for the products you do have. Write your content so it reads well to a user, and don’t worry too much about how many keywords you think should or should not be featured in it.

Your content must be a true and honest representation of the products and services you offer. Trust is a big factor in SEO. Do not give the engines a reason not to trust your site. If you are caught trying to trick users in to visiting your site by dubious and exaggerated claims, the search engines will not take too kindly and you will be punished with low rankings or even not ranked at all.

At Redweb Search, we only ever advise the use of ethical SEO practices which will give you sustained long term results. For more tips and advice on SEO, take a look at the Redweb Search website.
