Story Of A Viral
OMG she just quit her job by saying some really outrageous things on a white board to her boss! Cue posting on a well known blog (The Chive) and the subsequent tweets, retweets, Facebook postings and social bookmarks being shared. Then, someone delves a little deeper and finds out the whole thing is a hoax for a bit of publicity. End result? A WHOLE LOT OF PUBLICITY!

This happened to go viral the day after a Jet Blue employee quit his job by grabbing a few beers and sliding out of the plane using the fire exit slide. This is a huge coincidence but as Elyse auditioned a couple of weeks (3rd Aug) before this, they can’t be related.
The photos in the story contain references to a couple of internet big shots such as Techcrunch and Farmville. Techrunch then happened to be the one to officially break the story that it was a hoax.
The girl was quite obviously a model. Why would she have actually bothered to get changed for the last 3 shots.
BUT…
It went viral amazingly quickly and on a huge scale. The objective of attracting a lot of new visitors to the site worked and awareness of the site must be at an all time high.
